Ofrenda
An ofrenda was the inspiration for isoA/D's installation for Design in Bloom, an event hosted by Modern in Denver magazine. The installation reinterprets the traditional ofrenda, an altar to honor and sustain visiting souls. The ofrenda is an abstract space with mirrors reflecting visitors and includes them as fleeting images in this abstraction.

The Marigold flowers guide souls to the altar, and the soul's path follows the hope provided by a flame of light. Water is present to refresh spirits on their journey and provides another surface for reflection. Elements are familiar but disorienting, an abstract infinite space. Lost petals ascend and decompose, and what was whole and grounded transforms into scattered and infinite.
